This book belongs in all of our rubbish bins

Yes, indeed very clearly, Yes, it is evident that mistakes have of course been made but yes, I agree that if these are recognised and as we learn from both our studies of animals in the wild and in captivity we continue to progress, then there is hope. It is indeed a balance between the very real need for funding from different quarters and how to fulfill the needs of the animals.

So I guess you are having to face your own challenges now in finding funding for yourself in the shape of a paypacket! I wish you luck, have you studied zoology or associated studies? I know several people who started with no qualifications in science based subjects whatsover and have done very well indeed. I suppose a passion to learn and a passion to be part of the zoo world aided their job application, that or a willingness to work long hours for low pay!!! Only joking!!:D

Im doing a BTEC National Diploma Animal Management and I'm opting out of Uni, lol. Im on target for a triple distinction so hopefully I'll land a job asap. Im having lots of chats with my tutor about ways of going about getting into the career I want.

Lol, Ive known since my first careers interview in school that its not a lot of money and a lot of tiring days. But I'll be happy in that I'll have job satisfaction, doing what I love doing and hopefully I'll get to have lots of good experiences. I think its probably amongst the most rewarding jobs going. I loved the time I spent at Exmoor Zoo and its definately for me :D haha

Im considering volunteering at my local zoo (Marwell) during weekends and working at the pet shop im currently at for the rest of the time for funds. Or vice versa, if I can live on two days pay a week haha.

Apologies for briefly hijacking the thread, but has anybody got any experience in applying for jobs at zoos and how they went about it?
