It has unfortunately come to my attention tonight that after a long illness, @Bele - one of the longest-standing active members of the forum, and also a long-time member of the Bartlett Society - recently passed away.

He is a big loss both to the forum and the wider zoo enthusiast community.

That is awful news. He was an informative and active contributor to the forum and will be missed massively. My thoughts are with his family.

She is no longer a member of the forum for reasons we will not go into, and will not be returning.

@AliceLoveTora made significant contributions to the information of the Sumatran Tiger Population in Japan, especially on this thread Sumatran Tigers in Japan

She sadly passed away due to Cancer back in August. Her love for the Tigers and her contributions to the Japan forum will be missed.

I've only just come across this information and I'm sorry to hear it. Bele was a long term and regular user of Zoochat for some years, then seemed to disappear completely, though he then returned more occassionally, quite recently.

He's fine and still active elsewhere online - just no longer a member of the forum.

Similarly, he's doing well (despite severe health issues which came within a shrew's hair of killing him some years ago and which still impact him now) and is active within the wider zoo community, but is no longer a member of this forum - as a matter of fact I spoke with him on the phone for over two hours a few days ago as part of my duties as one of the Bartlett Society archivists.
