My Submission:

@lintworm's Europe's 50 must see zoos

Not only this year's best thread, but in my opinion arguably the best thread in the history of the forum.

@CGSwans's ZooChat Cup Match #25: Burgers (6) vs Wroclaw

The ZooCup was a fantastic series of threads, and the Burgers vs Wroclaw match was an instant classic that really had it all.

@sooty mangabey's Down Beside Where The Waters Flow...

Of all of this year's travel threads this slipped into my third place spot, I think due to writing quality. Quite a few contenders could have made it here though.
