It's been seven years since the Taronga Western Plains Zoo bred meerkats, but a successful move from a New Zealand female to Dubbo last year has resulted in three new babies.
Ever since the British TV show Meerkat Manor, people realised what fascinating and complex creatures meerkats are.
Native to southern Africa, the furry little mammals are best known for their pose - upright on their hind legs with a perfectly straight back, often looking around for predators.
They're undeniably a zoo favourite, and the Taronga Western Plains zoo staff in Dubbo are especially chuffed because they've helped breed three new pups.
Umi was an experienced mother who moved to Dubbo in 2010 from Auckland and has had immediate success in increasing the population.
The new meerkats were born on Saturday 24th July.
