Althrough spring has not yet reached the northern part of Germany, the Tierpark Gettorf had some nice breeding-results during March 2013 :
1 white-faced saki
1 emerald dove
1 peacock pheasant ( species not mentioned but I assume Grey )
also several dwarf goats
 
The year begins good at Gettorf. During January more then 20 Pygmy goats were born ! Other births / hatchlings during January :
2 Pied imperial pigeons
1 Alpaca
 
At least Tierpark Gettorf has them also : Meerkat !
A female came from Zoo Dortmund and 2 males are expected from Zoo Linz :).
 
After spend 36 years at Tierpark Gettorf the female White-handed gibbon 'Lola' passed away this summer. In the archive it could not be found anymore how old she was at arrival in 1979 so its not known how old she has become.
Lola had several young during her time at Gettorf and in the period I took care for her ( 1989 -1994 ) she alsogave birth and raised the baby succesfully. Her last young - a male - was born 2011.
 
Althrough Tierpark Gettorf is mainly a mammal and bird zoo now a remarkeble new reptile entered the collection. From a private keeper a Chinese big-headed turtle came to the park and now lived in the waterfall-pool in the tropical house.
 
After 6 years without births in July a Crested Celebes macaque was born.
In Oct. 2014 the male Malino came from Jersey to be paired up with Gettorfs 3 females.
Kendari was his favorite female and it was she which now has become the mother of the baby. Hopefully the 2 other females - Naomi and Kiribali - also will soon produce young.
 
Victoria crowned pigeons are doing quite well at Gettorf. This year one hatched in June and a month later a second hatched from another pair.
A first breeding for Gettorf took place in May, a Red-crested touraco hatched and was raised.
 
To start with some sad news from Gettorf. At an age of 20 years Lowland tapir male Rüdiger died.
Also some good news :
1 Grey peacock pheasant hatched
1 Victoria crowned pigeon hatched
3 Squirrel monkeys born ( Jan. 16, Feb. 7 and Feb. 15 )
 
In Spring 2018 Lowland tapir Tambo ( born at Hamburg Zoo ) and Jule produced their first young which was however stillborn.
On Aug. 9 this year the pair was more succesfull and Jule gave birth to a healthy boy-calf, Paco :)

Theo wasn't a Crested black macaque but a Black crested mangabey ( and I'm sure about this because I took care for him myself a long time ago ).
