Hi folks. Just to let you know. If you have elderly or disabled family or friends, and travel by public transport, the Number 2 Metrobus no longer serves the last stop at Tilgate Park/Nature Reserve at the weekends. It STILL maintains on the website that it does, but word of mouth from the drivers that took myself and my sister,on an aborted trip, state they no longer serve the stop and end/start return, outside the K2 Leisure Centre nearby.

The good thing is,if you are fit an dable to, the Nature Centre is a 15 minute walk from the leisure centre, along the short sloping path alongside the road into the car park, then across and cut through the Martial Arts huts, past the lake and around the rear of the zoo/walled garden wall.

I took my mobility limited sister within touching distance before unforseen circumstances aborted the trip. I hope to go again,as i am quite interested to see their South American animals as well as the other impressive little collection

This is the stocklist i saw or saw signs for ,but may of omitted the odd few.

Non-native, potentially Common Wall Lizard, if there are garden centres near or imported plants (I think there are) they will probably be Mediterranean Gecko as you said

On August 22nd, the zoo announced that 7 Berkshire pigs were born the week prior, which are on exhibit.

5.7K views · 67 reactions | Tiny trotters incoming! Our Berkshire pigs have had piglets! These little ones were born last week to new parents Sindy and Ken! So far, Sindy seems to be taking motherhood in her stride. This makes sense: Berkshire pigs are known for their good maternal instincts and as they are a rare British breed, that is very encouraging to know! As different pig products have risen and fallen in popularity, so has the number of each heritage pig breed. Berkshire pigs had been on the decline, as other pig breeds such as the large white pig breed were favoured, but now there are concerted efforts to maintain this rare breed. Since that process means we all get to see sights such as braces of piglets like these along the way, then it sounds like a win-win! Why not come and see them this weekend?
