Despite being somewhat garbage, I guess this place has rhinos and anoa now. They’re getting more penguins too.

I don’t know how I feel about this facility. When I visited, I thought of their open paddocks were decent - as you can’t really mess up an open grassy area - and some of their primate enclosures were okay. The large cat care and those little duplicate cages along the sides of the entrance were pretty awful. Those little glass enclosures in that one encounters room thing were terrible too.

A tad unfair and not representative for anoa as to date Rum Creek been the prima forma breeder. Thank goodness to the maverick owner having a real penchant for these as well as perpetuating large numbers of endangered species!

My comment was absolutely nothing against Rum Creek, as they have, indeed, been very important in ensuring the continued presence of many species of hoofstock in the States. I was merely stating that because of the large number of anoa in private hands, they are not particularly hard to get your hands on if you have the interest... They *want* more holders to take them on... so it shouldn’t be that surprising that this facility was able to obtain them.

I just wanted to underline that thanks to Rum Creek and its idiosyncratic owner the anoa is in large numbers in USA and private hands.

And yes, very valid …, at present Rum Creek and its curator are fairly busy getting back AZA zoos on board with conservation breeding and pairing up new anoa pairs in zoos.
 
The son of the Timbavati Wildlife Park owners added me on Snapchat and followed me on Instagram. I'm determined to find out where they got the anoa from. On another note, he says they stopped cub petting.

The zoo doesn't have turaco or kinkajou anymore. They also would like to get more rhinos in the near future.

Could you determine from where are their clouded leopards? Or anything about them to update the thread?

I'll ask now and edit this post.

Update: They still have clouded leopards. They have four at one of their facilities. They have three facilities and one zoo. I haven't been given an exact number of how many are at the zoo, despite my asking a few times, but they are off-exhibit. It appears they can get more whenever they want.

One of the facilities is in Westfield, two are is Neshkoro. None are open to the public.

Any idea where is the male White Rhino from?
