Two finless porpoises were born at the aquarium this spring, a female on May 20th and a male on June 6th. The female is being hand-raised.

The Toba aquarium in general seemed magnificent to me, but precisely the facilities for marine mammals are horrible: small, ugly, extremely simple, boring, without stimulation for the animals. they can only spin in the water, nothing more...
I had a very nice day in Toba today and for zoonerds can confirm 1dugong, 1 African manatee, 3 Commerson's dolphins and 5 East-asian finless porpoises![]()
Unfortunately the male deceased in July 2024Only 1 African manatee left?
Is there any possibility that Japan as a major marine and acquatic mammal exhibitor (at various, if not quite a few collections) may be able to import any dugong or African manatee?
