so like, not even allowed to go on exhibit?

The current AZA Species Survival Plan Coordinator and Studbook Keeper for Amur Leopards is actually at Toledo Zoo, but I have no idea what their long-term plans are as far as exhibiting them publicly at their own zoo. I was simply pointing out what's noted in the import permit application, which can be downloaded here:

Regulations.gov

Perhaps someone who's local and has visited the Toledo Zoo may have better insight into their future plans.

This has been a long time coming, but I wanted to share some updates and other notes from my visit last Tuesday:
  • The small outdoor yard attached to the Aviary is now home to southern pudu (although I didn’t see any, unfortunately). Not sure how new exactly they are but I don’t remember seeing a sign for them on my visit last July.
  • The former king cobra exhibit in the Reptile House now holds a Cuvier’s dwarf caiman (although again, it was a no-show for me). Neat that Toledo now has a second crocodilian species, and neater still that the two they have are actually the largest and the smallest worldwide.
  • Was my first time seeing the nyalas despite them being at the zoo for 2+ years now, including a couple cute fawns.
  • Also my first time seeing the whole indoor area of Nature’s Neighborhood, which made it my first time seeing the pied tamarins or giant waxy monkey tree frog.
  • They’re growing native prairie plants on the former site of Cheetah Valley. That’s cool and all, but I kind of wonder why they’ve ceased using this area as exhibit space?

Are there no more king cobras in Toledo?
