Man, do I have some sad news for you guys. Nieve, this sweet girl in the first photo? I just recently found out that she passed away. Now, I don't have any clue on how she died, all I know is that shes gone now. And how I found this out was that while I was on my way back to the main offices for my lunch break after going through the Aviary, I noticed that, out of all things, the DINGOES were in Nieve's enclosure. Now, me being confused and with another ZooTeen nearby, I questioned them a few things. One, why were the Dingoes in Nieve's enclosure? Well, thats because they were getting stressed out from the construction going on for Kodiak Ridge. So then I asked them about where the hell Nieve was if the Dingoes were in her enclosure, and thats when I was told that she passed away.

How far along is the construction for Kodiak Ridge?

AYO. THE ZOO JUST GOT CALIFORNIAN SEA LIONS. I REPEAT. THE ZOO JUST GOT CALIFORNIAN SEA LIONS. I have no idea where they're gonna be going ( maybe Arctic Encounter with the seals, but I'm not sure if it would work with the theme ), how many there are, or anything else about them. I don't care how common they are, I'm still very excited for them to show up. Expect to see them this weekend!

Wow! That sure is amazing to hear. I will be visiting Toledo Zoo this September for the first time and I hope to see them.

If they’re going on exhibit so soon the only place they’d really fit is in the seal enclosure. In the long run they could build a new sea lion area, but that takes time.

EDIT: Also it would be far from the only zoo to put the species in their Arctic area. Shedd, NC, and Louisville all have off the top of my head.

And here's the corroborating post!

Shedd keeps their sea lion in Pacific Northwest, not the Polar Play Zone.

I mean, fair enough. Knowing that Californians in particular can and have travelled up to Southeast Alaska before, albeit rarely? It makes a bit more sense why they would be in Arctic Encounter and other Arctic related exhibits. I'm getting some training tomorrow ( or today EST, and it's basically just a renewal thing on the basic stuff in order for me to continue working there ), so I hope to see if they're in there. And I also have a meeting on the 5th, so if I can remember, expect to see some things posted.
