Melbourne Zoo Escapees

Melbourne Zoos Gorilla Yakini escaped his enclosure last year ......

"A low-hanging palm was all cheeky Melbourne Zoo gorilla Yakini needed to escape his enclosure and go walkabout before staff recaptured him with a bunch of bananas and a tranquilliser dart."

Also in 2007.....

"The male binturong, also known as a bearcat, was seen scampering across the road by a motorist about 1.45am (AEDT) on Tuesday before taking refuge up a tree on the corner of The Avenue and Walker Street at Parkville, in Melbourne's inner-north, Victoria Police said.

Senior Constable Jenny McDonald from Carlton police station said she and her partner, who were called to investigate the sighting, initially thought they were dealing with a panther."

Do a 'Google' of title for more about the incidents,

I am glad they skipped the Tatiana case from this coverage; not only am I tired of it and still sad for the loss of the tiger (not sure about the jackass who teased her and ended up dead as a result) there was also about time that these unavoidable happenings (from time to time in all zoos, although very different cases of course and there is not nearly always danger present) would be covered in a light and jolly manner without a focus on loss of life or limbs. I for one would not have read an article entitled "10 most dangerous zoo escapes".
