1. the only rule is that it has to be a species of waterfowl
2. I'm a pretty firm believer that the pink headed duck is actually still alive because of how locals say it is still around and how dense that environment is so dense and all the crocs in the region that are stopping westerners from going into the heart of the Myanmar swamps

In no particular order:

Maned Duck (Australian Wood Duck)
African Pygmy Goose
Spotted Whistling-Duck
Brazilian Teal
Black-necked Swan

Honorable mention:
Hartlaub's Duck
Javan Whistling Duck
Red-breasted Goose
Ring-necked Duck
Barnacle Goose

harlequin & long-tailed duck (equal at the top of my list)
whooper swan
surf scoter
king eider (the ony one I haven't seen in the wild)

Whenever I've participated in "List your favourite" type threads (whether deer, antelope, primate or whatever) I've always restricted my choices to species I've actually seen.

Consequently I automatically imposed the same restriction on my choice of waterfowl too. Obviously I've never seen a pink-headed duck, so I left it off my list.

@Conor McGarry I very much hope you're correct and trust the pink-headed duck still exists. However I'm more sceptical and, sadly, don't share your optimism.
