Toronto Zoo Toronto Zoo Developments 2021

@StellarChaser I don't, unfortunately. I was just talking with a friend and saying I wouldn't be surprised if Puzzle was leaving sooner rather than later, and they leave it all closed until the spring, lumping the repairs in with the renovations to the outdoor aviary.

@Kalvin, in a Facebook live her keeper did say she would be around until spring at least, adding depending on covid. Though if there was damage to the tree kangaroo are or the aviary bad enough to force a prolonged closure the zoo could push to send her south earlier if it's possible. But you could be right and they might take advantage of winter to bump up work. Clearly Dolf is a guy who if presented with an opportunity to move something up on the schedule for the betterment of the animals will do so. The guy gets stuff done whenever there is a chance to do it. Anything could happen at any time with him which is a really cool and refreshing thing.

@ProjectGames, first of welcome! Glad to have a new member. Hope you will like being part of our Toronto Zoo crazy crowd.

The orang exhibit is most definitely not finished. Go back in this thread and there are photos of its progress. If winter stays mild and covid doesnt shut things down they are on track for a hopefully spring but probably summer 2022 opening. Every time we see updates though now we see noticeable progress which is huge compared to last summer where it looked like little progress was being made (hard the its all the foundation blocks to notice much).

Yes since 1974 the only exhibit the orangs have had is the indoor exhibit. They do have bedrooms that were improved I think in the early 2000s.

Welcome @ProjectGames. Glad to see new faces joining the forum.

As @TZFan said, take a look through this thread and even past threads if you're really curious on past developments. If we're lucky news of the indoor exhibit may be revealed in the new Master plan that's scheduled for release in February.
