Im sure some arctic birds and ducks for oxbow lake!

Polar Bears:
Will have the existing yard renovated to have lots of rockwork, gravel digging area, rockwork platers will have trees divided some exhibits.
New holding, off exhibit yard, and display yard.

Arctic Wolf:
Rockwork, trees, rocks, the ideal habitat for arctic wolves.

Oxbow Lake will drain into the Caribou, Musk Ox, and Reindeer exhibit. The Camp area will have lots of educational buildings, and tents. There will be lots of rocks/rockwrok along pathways. Interpertive trails.

This exhibit will be outstadning when the whole project is completed.

ohhhhhhhhh,i thought the polar bears were just getting one big yard, are you saying they'll get two on exhibit yards? If so,that would be so awesome. They could have a Tundra Land Area and a Icy Coast Area with an acrylic tube running through the pool (I forgot to add that to my list, check for updated information).

this sounds like you are describing the "Artic Ring of Life" at Detroit Zoo.

Thats Zoogoers "Dream Tundra Trek" But what I had was information from the plans. All the North Zoo Redevelopment Projects: ...

First Phase: Tundra Trek
Second Phase: Eurasia
Third Phase: Mixed Wood/ Boreal Forest
Fourth Phase: Tropical America

... are to be completed in a ten year time frame. Also including: ...

A $32 million revamp of the Canadian exhibits, including a grizzly bear compound.
A $21.5 million education centre focusing on biodiversity and sustainability. The structure will be built to top-rated environmental standards.
A $17 million permanent giant panda exhibit. The zoo has an agreement with China to get the animals, but still needs co-operation from the federal government before the pandas can be secured.
A new animal health centre for $8.3 million.
A $32.8 million conservation fund that would allow the zoo to fund projects anywhere in the world.
A $2.5 million fund for reproductive research so the zoo can breed more animals. That's in keeping with the zoo's conservation mandate.

...But I dought that will happen. The Tundra Trek is scedualed to open in late 2009

Here is how im hoping it goes, some of the names are ones i made up.

South Side African Rainforest Pavilion Renovation:December 2008

Tundra Trek:May 2009

Giraffe House:November 2009

Eurasian Experience:September 2010

Canadian Wilderness:April 2011

Toby Styles Elephant Expanse:September 2011

Tropical Americas:October 2013

in a way,i somewhat am but with a few more things and some differnent ones.I just really like the sounds of Arctic Ring Of Life.

Giraffe house may not happen, same with the Orangutans ... its been talked about. and you on't need Outlook to e-mail them just copy and past the e-mail onto your e-mail. I have already asked for a timeline and they don't have one. But the projects I mentioned are the projects that will happen in a 10 year time frame according to the article they were in.

Justwondering if anyone knows of a coming and going list of animals at toronto zoo?I'd be thinking the siberian and sumatran tiger and the snow leopards bcubs would be going soon?

The Sumatran but the Siberian and Snow Leopards are staying for a bit longer. Because there a year old, not exactly though.

I've found a way to find out some new developments a the Toronto Zoo. Go to Toronto - The official City of Toronto website and do a search for "zoo" or whatever. They have tenders for different things. That is the first place I found out about the Tundra Trek, the dinosaur exhibit, the stingrays, renovation to the rest of the African pavillion, Australasia, etc.

did it say what exactly is happening to the pavilion?

It mentioned the Pygmy Hippos, Mandrills, Chameleon and some type of snake who's name escapes me at the moment (I think it was some type of python), getting new enclosures, as well as a free flight aviary. There is also a theater planned, and when done, it mentioned that it will match the quality of the gorilla section of the pavilion. Apparently the southern area of the building hasn't had many changes since 1974.

I honestly thought the mandrill exhibit looked okay, so I was a little surprised to hear that they're going to redo it again. Change is good, though :)

Oh, it thought the pygmy hippo habitat was new in 2001?The type of snake your thinking of are called royal pythons.
