Ok I have a question for you. Our family wants to go on an animal based trip with my 2 1/2 year old nephew. Hes being joined by 3 adults and hes a busy little guy. Now conisidering its to be a one day trip and travel time to African Lion Safari will be 3 1/2 to 4 hours while Toronto is 2 1/2 hours, which one do you think is the better option for a little guy who likes to see and do things. Personally I think its the zoo but I havent been to African Lion Safari since we were small kids so I really dont know if its worth a trip that long. I've been to the website and it seems like he'd go through even more sitting down there with 3 shows... 4 if we see the elephants bathe, plus the bus ride. I could use more information from those who have been. What do you people think? Zoo or Safari?

For kids I'd say the safari. Many shows, rides and the thrill of driving through the exhibits. For me or any other zoo-enthusiast: Toronto Zoo.

But do you think it might be too much time sitting for such a little guy. It'd be the probably 4 hours to the safari. Sitting for shows, sitting in the drive through exhibits, sitting on the train, sitting on the boat. Then a 4 hour drive home. Is there really enough not sitting there to give him a chance to burn some energy?

My thought was at the zoo he can walk to exhibits, run around in open spaces, play on the playground at the discovery zone, play at the splash pad. The only sitting he would have to do is the 2 1/2 hour drive there and again back, and on the zoomobile if he wants and on a camel or pony if he wants to ride them and is allowed at his age. Oh and if he wants to plop down in his stroller.

I just dont know if theres enough to do at the safari to keep him moving in comparison to the zoo. I could use more info on what there is to see and do beyond the rides and shows.

Just keep the little guy awake before the long drive ;)

Toronto has pretty long pathways, that could be a bit much for a kid i guess.
