@tiffanyanddave, that is true, I do hope as well that they can breed.

@Flixox101, I know both the pygmy hippos and the lemurs can breed, if they do that would be great! We do have 1.1 komodo and as far as I know they too can breed. As well as the tree kangaroos we have 1.1 and again they will be put together to breed. The sumatran is still in quarantine as for the tapir, I have yet to hear anything about it.

Anyword on the White-Face Saki Monkey? He has been off display for a while now. Just wondering if maybe he was moved or sick?...

I've been looking at Toronto Zoo photos on flickr and must say you either have a lot of wonderful photographers up there or very photogenic animals. I think it's both!

Due to the death of Pumba, our male warthog, is there any chance of acquiring a new male warthog for chances of breeding?

I believe I was reading it here on the forums, if not then I might be mistaken, thinking of something else.

Are there duikers in the newly renovated southside of the African Rainforest Pavilion?

And are the two jaguars siblings? If so, is there any plans to bring in a breeding male or female?

Duikers, yes and also out in the Savanna Outlook.

The jaguars are siblings. To my knowledge no plans to bring in more cause there is no space.

Really? My last visit to the zoo I didn't see the duikers in the pavilion or on the savanna outlook. I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for them. Thanks Quartz!

I have yet to see them too, just saw signs up for them.

Was at the zoo yesterday:

- Rock Lobsters and Crabs have been put in the anemonae and giant octopus tanks in americas to preprare them for the new inhabitants
- Duiker wasn't on but the Crown Cranes have been moved from the outlook the the empty yard across from the Royal Pythons in the African Pavillion, they are visible through the glass.
- Pelicans were on display with the Penguins, but the keepers were having a hard time getting them out of the back holding area
-Elephant Keeper talk was heated because someone was debating Bob Barker among other things with the keeper who clearly did not appreciate Toronto Media
- Blue Macaw was on display and he was very talkative. He was saying hello to everyone that walked by his exhibit
-Already discussed but, the Babirusa are now on display with the Gibbons

I think that people should leave thew keepers alone, they have been through a tough few years and have to put up with alot due to Barker and the Media, it was both unfair and rude to start the argument with a keeper during a Keeper Talk.

JMANPROJECT88, how many bairusas are/were there?

There was only one on display. BUT there could be more as If I remember correctly we did receive two of them. One may have been kept in the holding as the Gibbons did not take the change to lightly as one Gibbon was chasing the Babirusa around at one point (someone else saw this on the forum) and when I saw the Babirusa, only one Gibbon was on display and it was watching with intense focus. I am talking every movement/nudge of dirt lol. The Gibbon was up very high close the moat/wall shared with the Orangs and the Babirusa was against the glass across from the Tigers, therefore compeletely seperate sides of the exhibit lol.

lol. I do have to say though, the babirusa (unlike the Gibbon) was extremely active and curious and looked to be content with its new surroundings.

At the Zoo Saturday, only a few updates:

- Egyptian Geese have been put into the Penguin Exhibit. There are still two with the Sacred Ibis however.
- The Bonnethead Shark is in Stingray Bay, there is only one
- Snowy Owl is back on display in the Tundra. There was a female hiding in the back of the exhibit.
- The zoo is having problems with wild Raccoons in the Crested Cranes and Black Duiker exhibits. I observed one being chased out by a keeper and overheard the keeper talking about it to another

Couple corrections,
- well this is an fyi the 2 geese that are with the penguins are the ones out in the savanna normally.
- There are 4 bonnethead sharks at Stingray Bay.
