I'm searching for any information about the first breedings ( world, usa, europe, germany)of any species of Tree Kangaroos-does anybody has any information about that ?

I

For the Goodfellow tree kangaroo :
Rotterdam Zoo 1978 European ( and Dutch :) ) first-breeding
Frankfurt Zoo 1981 German first-breeding
Beauval 2007 France first-breeding
Belfast 2014 UK-first-breeding

I don't know if these are firsts at all or not (couldn't find any other details), but Adelaide Zoo has bred Matschie's Tree Kangaroos (first in 1973) and Doria's Tree Kangaroos (first, I think only, in 1976), but not Goodfellow's or Bennett's as of 1978, but at least the former since then.

In "Management of Wild Mammals in Captivity" Crandall quotes sources that say Grizzled Tree Kangaroos bred at the National Zoo in the late 1930's or early 40's (the female died in 1943); Black Tree Kangaroos at Leipzig prior to 1954; Black and Matschie's at London prior to 1953; and two female Matschie's breeding at San Diego in 1961.

..... Black and Matschie's at London prior to 1953......

A black (ursine) tree kangaroo was born at London Zoo on 10th April 1912; sadly it only lived for nine weeks.

A Matschie's tree kangaroo was born at London Zoo in 1932.

According to CITES, an ursine tree kangaroo was sent from Brazil to Italy back in 1981. I also have found a picture on the internet of two kangaroos at the Rio de Janeiro zoo (Brazil), so could anyone help me to confirm their species? I presume the mom and joey are both tree-kangaroos, but I'm not sure.

Hello. This is the timeline of tree-kangaroos in Brazil, at least from what I've gathered online.

- May 1972: In a shipment of thirty-five animals, the first tree-kangaroo in Brazil arrives at the São Paulo zoo. Its species was not stated, but I believe it was Dendrolagus ursinus.

- Between May 1972 and October 1975: another specimen of tree-kangaroo arrived in the country, also sent to São Paulo.

- October 6, 1975: both animals are sent to RioZoo.

- August 1, 1977: for the first time, the couple's first joey, a female, put her paws out of her mom's pouch.

- July 6, 1978: It was announced RioZoo's female had another joey. The new baby was expected to completely leave the marsupium in August.
