Melbourne Zoo tree kangaroos

The current listing for Aussie zoos:

D. goodfellowi
Currumbin 1.3.1 (1 birth)
Melbourne 2.3.1 (1 birth)
Sydney 1.1

Rainforest Habitat 5.3

D. matschei
Adelaide 1.2

Rainforest Habitat 5.4.2 (1 birth)

phase out within ARAZPA: Where will these individuals be sent to? The US SSP as I gather they intend to concentrate on D. matschei and phase out the D. goodfellowi.

Which individuals are due to be imported ex the US (Cleveland 0.1; San Antonio 0.1 and San Diego 2.2)?????

Jelle, Two TK have arrived from the USA not long ago, one went to Taronga zoo with the other going to Currumbin

current listings for D.goodfellowi (16.2.08)

Currumbin 2.3
Habitat (PNG) 5.2
The rest are the same.

The two animals from the USA came from San Diego Zoo

D.matschei

Habitat (PNG) 7.5
The rest the same.

The remaining animals from Adelaide are getting very old and couldn't handle the transfer to the USA. So they will see out their life span at Adelaide until Goodfellow's become available.

Am I correct to assume the Currumbin joey born lately is a male (1.3.1 ISIS, your data 2.3)?

Re the San Diego transfers in: were these 0.2 or other?
Is San Diego part of the ARAZPA breeding programme or not?

I would love to know more about the collection. I have read on their website that they do research on tree kangaroos in the wild over there and have a considerable collection of local wildlife and are specialists in TKs and BoPs. Do you have additional information on Rainforest Habitat in PNG?

Re Rainforest Habitat:
Did they recently loose a female Goodfellow's? What about recent breeding of both species?

How do they keep their BoPs? Is the set up different from those in western or SE Asian zoos (Singapore, Thailand etcetera)?

I tried to find some more details about the Goodfellow tree kanagroos in Germany and Melbourne and here is what I found:

Melbourne:

1. breeding pair:
1,0 Torea * 1997
0,1 Tapini * 1996

parents of:
o,1 Loomy * 2005, transferred to Germany, now living in Dortmund Zoo
0,0,1 ? * 2007

2. , young breeding pair:
1,0 Bagi
0,1 Timika

parents of:
0,1 Tani * 2007

(there are more joeys from both pairs but this is what I could find)

Krefeld, Germany:

1. breeding pair:

1,0 Bud
0,1 Summer

both from San Diego, had a couple of joeys, among them

1,0 Wango * 2004 in Krefeld
0,1 Buna * 2006 in Krefeld

Wango is now paired with 0,1 Belisi, born in Melbourne in 2005 (not sure to which pair, probably Bagi x Timika since Loomy is the 2005 joey of Tapini)
So Krefeld has now 2 pairs, one old breeding pair and a young pair, plus one young female.

Dortmund has one young female and is said to get a male this sping (from where?)

Rumors are that Belfast and Wissel (zoo in the Netherlands) are to recieve tree kanagoos this year, not sure from where. One will probably get young female Buna from Krefeld.
