Trotters World of Animals (Old) Trotters WOA

After a visit to the park I can confirm that one wildebeest didn't survive the Cumbrian winter and this left the park with one remaining. They are hoping to build up a herd but first want to successfully keep a few specimens and see how they cope with the climate.

Hope that answers any questions.

I somehow thought that would be the case.;) Presumably the replacement has arrived by now- do we know where from (Newquay or Marwell), whether male or female, and the sex of the one that died?

Have they built a proper hard stand and stable for the wildebeest? last time I visited it was just a shed and a muddy field.

Real shame:( I was fearing this would be the case

Trotters...

I believe Black Wildebeest can be difficult to introduce to each other, & are fairly nasty tempered generally.

They can be extremely so. When it first opened Marwell had a trio of these animals- the male was extremely pugnacious, principally toward people, but also to the females- like a Spanish fighting bull, but worse.

Haven't found anything yet, of course I'll be on the look out for information, and if I can't find out, I'll inquire at my next visit (2 weeks)
