12 ****** from Southern California were caught by the US Fish and Wildlife Service trying to sell illegal wildlife over the internet. These articles detail who the ****** are and what they were trying to sell, and highlight the explosion of illegal wildlife traffic on the net.

A ***** from my vicinity, one Karla Trejo, was trying to sell a live Western scrub jay for $185 on Craigslist!

Glad they were caught. People should also be aware that a lot of alleged animal sales on the internet are simply money scams and the animals do not really exist. These sites are often quoted by animal rights extremists to inflate their claims about the rampant problem of private breeding in the United States. In fact, they are basing their statistics on phantom animals. (The Feline Conservation Federation published an article on this about a scam for alleged cheetah cubs for sale - which they followed up to prove it was a hoax).
