I thaught this may be interesting, this however was what initiated me to take pictures of the Tundra Trek from beginning to end. I wanted to put then side by side and see the progress. Below will be series of photos that I put together, they are taken in the same gerneral area. The pictures are in order from 2007, through two winters on and will continue to the opening day on August 1st 2009!

Those two views have the majority of the photos. If you want me to put together views from another angle let me know because I have all the time in the world and I get rather bored, very fast!

The Tundra has come along way since the beginning, even looking at the pictures from May, a month later and it looks complete!

Well a lot has been done at the zoo most barriers are complete. I still cannot find the arctic fox exhibit. It will remain a mystery until the Tundra opens! For the rest of the animal exhibits all have green grass in them and they look great! Hopeing for a safe arrival of Nakita and Aurora! Can't wait for opening day!

Photos are posted in the gallery!

Photos are now posted and another addition. There is a Tundra bush plane!

Aparrently, this is how you enter the area, Its like a simulation

(Kind of like Wild Arctic at Sea World)

The price tag on the Tundra Trek is $10 million, just posting if anyone wanted to know.

Wow. I didn't think it would be that much money (as in, didn't think it would be 10 million) because the reindeer are using the old llama house, and isn't the main polar bear veiwing area still the same? Because on the map it looks like it's the same size as before.

Its the same general size but I think they have added to the old exhibit. But concrete rockwork is expensive everything adds up right? You have labor, heavy equipment, relevaling, paving, brick, lighting, etc. It all adds up.

All too true. I hope the other renovations aren't that much, or the zoo might have to hold off other projects and everything getting pushed back a few more years.

The zoo has said that they wont start renos until i think its 80% of all funds are avaliable first!
