For cost of exhibit it is not big by any mean. Aquarium glass viewing and tent habitats are small. No bang for dollar cost.
To give the benefit of the doubt, it could also entail new infrastructure (electrical lining + plumbing) as well as cost of materials. Horticulture, graphics and keeper non-negotiables also play a factor in exhibit design. That said, maybe there was room in the budget to go beyond the final habitat size they went with, or they felt constrained by the constant barrage of NIMBY backlash.

"Skye," a male Amur Leopard, was transferred to Turtle Back Zoo from Utah's Hogle Zoo on September 13th for an SSP breeding recomendation - reported on Hogle Zoo's social media pages.

Some more details about the upcoming Komodo dragon and American alligator exhibit project, now under the title “Island Giants.”

I like the name, but I think they've chosen the wrong crocodilian species for the name. There are plenty of cool crocodilian species that are from islands that'd be much better choices than American Alligator. I understand that it's the species currently at the zoo, but it'd be nice to see them swapped out for a species that better fits the theme in the future (and ideally from an SSP in need of holders)

The Turtle Back Zoo now has Bongo! The Bongo can be found in a backstage area left of the Giraffe House. They will be integrated into the main savanna habitat soon.
It also appears the zoo no longer has Giant Anteater as they are now unsigned.
I go to that zoo so often and that giant anteater was never visible to begin with. Never coming out. Why do I get the feeling them not having it anymore has something to do with the fact the giant anteater just always refused to come out to begin with. Also YAY Bongos!
