TV Series you are into

ArizonaDocent, I think that Sea Patrol got cancelled, but I am happy to hear that you are watching an Aussie show. :D

When I saw this I was disappointed and thought my viewing was over. I just finished season two (Hulu only has one and two), so I assumed by your post they only did two seasons. But I just looked it up on Wikipedia and apparently there were five seasons total, so hopefully Hulu will post season three soon and keep me going.

I thought that I would check out this Hulu that you mentioned, and got this message:

"Sorry, currently our video library can only be watched from within the United States"

I watched a couple episodes of 'Last Resort' recently.

The story is an agglomeration of many action-thriller films/TV series. Basically an American nuclear-armed submarine is ordered to launch nukes on Pakistan but refuses to do so because of the deviation from protocol. (It reminds me of the movie 'Crimson Tide' up to this point.) A seek-and-destroy game of cat and mouse ensues as they are pursued by American subs (reminds me of 'The Hunt for Red October') before they land on a fictitious island nation (that bears a striking resemblance to Hawaii) and threaten to launch their nukes at America if their sub is attacked. The series, I assume, follows their trials and tribulations on the island.

This series seems a bit too 'JAG/Sea Patrol' for my liking and I feel that I have seen it all before, except that the story has been updated a bit to reflect the change in world politics. ArizonDocent may love it :D but I might just give it 2 more episodes before dumping it with 'Revolution'.

The Big Bang Theory without a doubt.

Good sitcom. I don't watch it religiously, but I watch the odd episode when flicking channels. Other series I watch occasionally include 'Anger Management', 'Two and half men', 'Two broke girls' and 'Modern Family'.

Is anyone into 'Animal Practice'? I understand that animals are the stars.

you like Two Broke Girls? I only watched it because Kat Dennings is hot (saw her first in Thor) but it is unbelievably bad. There's absolutely no acting involved, they are just saying lines at each other. Lines that aren't remotely funny or even believable as something someone would actually say!

Some of Two And A Half Men is funny (mostly the earlier series, and there's not even any point watching the new ones with Ashton Kutcher). Modern Family is the best of the ones you mentioned there.

You caught me. :D my wife watches Two Broke Girls and I am often forced to watch it too. You are spot on about them exchanging lines.

I quite like Charlie but Ashton is annoying.

When there is nothing else on telly I will watch it I guess.

PAT, my wife likes Game of Thrones, so I will probably have to watch it come March anyway.

Are there any Homeland fans out there?

Yeah. I'm a big fan of homeland. Dont mind Law and Order SVU either. but never home during the week so I dont get to watch much tv.

I actually just discovered a new series a little while ago and ended up watching the whole first season in a day (that I had made sure I had nothing on to study). Has anyone watched Fresh Meat? It's similar to The Inbetweeners but set in university instead of high school. I laugh out loud nearly the whole episode, every episode, maybe because it hits a bit too close to home a lot of the time or maybe it is seriously hilarious.

Glad to hear that it's not just me and Obama who enjoy watching Homeland. Of course, he watches it on Air Force One....

I have not even heard of 'Fresh Meat', but I will Google it and have a look.

I watched Homeland and enjoyed it, although it was a bit too slow for me, they really dragged it out.

Fresh Meat was shown on one of the commercial HD channels - I saw it advertised a few times, but can't remember which channel.

I really enjoy the Big Bang Theory, but I don't watch it. However, I have the first five seasons on DVD and will get around to watching them at some point.

:p

Hix

Fresh Meat was on Channel 4 in the UK, I thought it was hilarious. Jack Whitehall (the posh one) is in a new series called Bad Education, playing a teacher, but I didn't enjoy that particularly.

I thought the first series of Homeland was quite gripping but a bit patchy, the second series is slow but seems ok. I've seen the original Israeli series on which it was based which is called Prisoners of War (Hatufim) which I think is superior and well worth checking out if you liked Homeland.

@Gentle Lemur : The Thick of It is still an endless source of imaginative and very colourful insults, although at times it doesn't seem to be much more than that. The same team made Veep, in the USA, which was very similar to TTOI but still very good.

I've now watched the first two episodes of Homeland, and will watch the third this afternoon. I'm liking it so far, it certainly has me intrigued.

Season 1 or 2? Season 1 starts off slow but man does it pick up the pace later on!!

Series 1. I don't think its too slow yet, I'm enjoying the detail and tension.

The problem is, I only have the first 3 eps, and will have to wait until mid-November to get the rest of S1 and possibly S2.

Why? The first season should be out on DVD, it should be available to pirate (if you are into that), and it is bound to be available for sale on iTunes.

I'm way too cheap to pay for it! :D

And I don't want to download it, cos that will use up heaps of our internet, and I'll probably stuff it up anyway, so I'll wait until I see one of my mates, who has tons of downloaded TV shows, and get the rest off him then (I got these first three off him).

:D Too funny. It sounds like NZ really is 'Middle Earth'! :D

Homeland is fantastic...loving season 2 so far. Newsroom and Breaking Bad also among my top, but I'm writing in to recommend Treme, which I think is definitely the best show on television, and the most under-rated show going.

I read about Treme, but it sounds like a drama about people rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina. Not my cup of tea - unless there is a supernatural element to it. :D
