TV Series you are into

I watched the last few episodes of Gotham Season 1 on Netflix. Now we have started watching 'Pretty Little Liars', which is like a high-school version of Desperate Housewives. The first 3 episodes were passable, so we may continue watching.

I got another 3mth free trial for another Aussie streaming service, so I want to try the new Stephen King, '11/2/63' series. I'm also hoping the 'Wolf Creek' TV series is released on that streaming service soon (it's based on the movie, and the same actor plays the psycho).

Anyone else seen the second season of DareDevil? Thoughts?

I thought it was fantastic although the story didn't go the way I expected at all and it was very disappointing in the sense of the Punisher not taken out an army of ninjas with a mini-gun. Despite this major shortcoming, the fight scenes are pretty great even if they are a bit few and far between and the performances of all involved are on point (apart from maybe the weakest-link Foggy in a few scenes; he still improves majorly from last season, though). Jon Bernthal is a perfect Punisher and is by far the best thing about this season. He simply steals every scene he's in and perfectly creates a real character who's as complex and Human as he is violent and is in no way just a mindless murdering machine. The violence is definitely R-rated as well. It's no surprise to me that there are rumors of a standalone Punisher series. Elektra was great as well and DareDevil himself has come a long way since season one and develops a lot throughout this new season. In the second half of the season there's an appearance from someone who I won't name that steals the show and makes me can't wait for season three! Not to mention they somehow managed to surpass the hallway fight scene from season one. I do feel the story became a bit rushed and lost me a little at the very end and would certainly have benefited from another episode to explain things better. Despite that, I'd still give it a 9.5/10

Gotham has been officially renewed for a third season.

And Dr Who fans are probably aware, but for everyone else, there will be no Doctor Who production this year (except for a Christmas special), but will return in 2017. Stephen Moffat also confirmed the series contract ensures the series will be produced until 2020.

Has anyone been watching Vikings? I watched the entire first series on Sunday, and it is brilliant! It is well-made, well-acted, and appears generally-historically-close-enough although it probably isn't (and I'm not entirely sure that an 8th century English king would have a pit full of pythons, boas and kingsnakes, but that is probably a picky complaint). The lead actor kept reminding me of Brad Pitt and his wife of Scarlett Johanssen; and the scenery kept making me think it was filmed in New Zealand but it was actually mostly Ireland. I am looking forward to watching the next two seasons.
it took me a little while to get round to it, but I finally watched all of seasons two and three the other week, as well as the available episodes of season four (all over three days). What a great show. Anyone else seen it or is watching it? Apparently it is a very popular series.

This is on Netflix and I have been meaning to watch it, but kept thinking it was like Game of Thrones, which I disliked. Are you a Game of Thrones fan?

So many shows, so little time to watch them!

I watched the first three episodes of House of Lies (with Don Cheadle) - a sort of corporate black comedy about management consultants - but it's not for me.

We watched a few episodes of Pretty Little Liars and may come back to it at some point.

Z Nation is funnier, more realistic take on the zombie apocalypse genre than Walking Dead. We enjoyed the first season, and will definitely watch Season 2 when it is released on Netflix.

Constantine! Why was this cancelled? The pilot episode was perhaps once of the best pilots I have ever seen - right up there with LOST. Anyway, the first (and last :() season was excellent, and I hope they resurrect it. (It's similar to Supernatural, but a bit darker, funnier, and more violent.)

I'm sure that there are a few other shows we have watched recently. Oh, Containment - we watched the first two episodes about a viral outbreak in Atlanta, and will continue to watch episodes as they are made available weekly.

11/22/63 is based on the Stephen King novel of the same name - where James Franco goes back in time to prevent the assasination of JFK. It was very enjoyable, but when the mini-series ended, you're left thinking "so what was the point of all this?".

And finally, our time filler sitcom is reruns of Fresh Prince of Belair - still funny and nostalgic some 25 years later!!

I'm really looking forward to the Wolf Creek TV series that will be out next week. From what I understand, the same actor who played Mick Taylor in the movies, is playing the role again, but this time he is being hunted by a young woman who wants revenge for him killing her family. It's Aussie, it's a slasher series, and Mick is right up there with Pennywise the Clown for all-time scary villain, so I'm all in.

never seen it, and the trailers and what-not don't make it look appealing to me.

Vikings is brilliant, only up to season 3 myself.

Cracking show, mixing history with legend.

Read the books, the TV show is good but nothing compared to the books.

TV show misses bits out and is well dramatized....I read the books and then watched the TV show. TV show shoes a lot of the stuff but it changes too many things for my liking.

I read a review of UnReal recently that went something like "if you love reality shows like The Bachelor, then you will love this. If you hate shows like The Bachelor, then you will LOVE this." I couldn't say it better myself! I watched the first season and now I'm hooked. It's a dramedy, behind the scenes look at the filming and drama behind shows like The Bachelor. Most fascinating to see how the producers manipulate the girls to get the desired scenes.

I also just finished watching the Wolf Creek 6-part miniseries. If you are a fan of the movies, then you will love this. Mick Taylor is back, and he is being chased across The Outback by a young woman who survived his attack. Gripping, Aussie-made TV. 9/10!!

A few years back (actually, 2004) there was a reality show that was not really a reality show (except it was, in a way). It was so different, and so hysterically funny that I absolutely loved it. It was downright Machiavellian! It may be available online - My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.

  • Massive shock, love that show....

Hope they don't cancel the good wife! haha

I wasn't suggesting it wasn't good, just that it was unexpected.
