I don't know the details but I get the impression a change of management is probably for the best all round given the recent cultural difficulties we've seen hints of - it can be hard to get out of that kind of situation without major change.

She was probably allowed to give the same amount of notice as the many staff she has 'resigned' over the last few years!!;)

As they say what goes around comes around!Have to wonder if she is feeling as upset as many of the ones she resigned felt,on second thoughts I don't care how she feels!As atleast now the zoo can try and start to rebuild what is left of its reputation within the zoo world!!!

she has been CEO for longer than that, so I assume a journalist's error (perhaps due to her change of surname?)

EDIT: or am I getting confused: Suzanne Boardman is the same person as Susie Jackson-Morgan???

Nope you are not getting confused they are the same person.As for the position she was the CEO for about 12 months,but before that she held the title of Director at the zoo.
 
Firstly, whoever takes over as Chief Executive/Director, I wish them the best of luck, and hopefully Twycross will in some way return to its happy atmosphere that it enjoyed under its previous direction, Obviously, who takes the job on will have a harder task than what Dr. Jackson Morgan had when she took over, which I believe was officially in 2004. Then , the zoo had a loyal contented staff with a very healthy bank balance, neither of which this zoo now has. I would also like to ask what has actually been achieved at this zoo under Dr. Jackson Morgan's time at the helm. A new, impressive entrance/restaurant, improved living conditions for the elephants, the Mary Brancker walkway and a new pets corner, also during this time this zoo gave itself the title"World Primate Center", all very well, but what may I ask has been done to improve things for these primates living in the "World Primate Center"?, I would suggest virtually nothing, in fact there are STILL to this day chimpanzees living in accommodation which the official zoo inspectors stated euthanasia for these animals would be preferable than allowing them to continue living in these conditions, and this was four years ago, what happened to the Molly Badham Primate Center for chimpanzees?, also what has happened to the new carnivore exhibit which has been promised now for five years as "coming soon". At least the zoo has maintained a healthy visitor number the last eight years, loyal Midlanders, perhaps the grandchildren of people who visited themselves in the early days of Twycross, what has been their reward for loyalty, literally charging admission for babes in arms

If you are referring to a recent drop in attendance figures, I would not be surprised, I think a lot of U.K. visitor attractions have suffered this year due to the Olympic games, appalling weather etc. I would also suggest, if there has been a recent drop in visitor numbers at Twycross, as well as the above valid reasons, the recent departure of popular zoo animals from this collection may also have contributed to this drop, as well as the giraffes, whose accommodation could have been refurbished for a reasonable amount of money, this zoo has not had lions or tigers now for some years, animals the average zoo visitor expects to see at a major zoo, word will get out by way of word of mouth, you only have to look at the comments about this zoo on its own facebook page to realise that!

I'm shocked to hear this, I assumed it was a hangover from some sort of past glories.
