I suspect it will be something more stupid than getting Giraffes back,as the current mangement seems to be only slightly less bonkers and stupid with its plans than the previous ones,that got the zoo it such a huge mess!!

Twycross 2013.....

Am I missing something? Are there no Arabian Camels in the UK then?
 
Vanishingly few - mostly in private hands. The vast majority of camels in the UK are Bactrian.

Very much the majority, as you say.
ZTL lists only 3 public holdings for Dromedary: Blair Drummond, Eagle Heights & Longleat( don't recall seeing them last year though). Oasis Camel Centre in Suffolk have them i think, probably one or two others, but certainly a rarity now.

Heythrop have Dromedary.
 
Any news on when we will find out if the baby orangutan is male or female?
Visited the day after the announcement was on facebook and mum was sitting outside away from the others, cradling baby and was lovely to see. Eager to go back again soon though as i was looking forward to seeing bonobo's but their house was closed to public.

There does now only appear to be the two parents and two young ones. Didn't see anyone to ask about the other female.
