Twycross Zoo Twycross Zoo News 2020

Hi I used to work with Jeremiah, Daniel, Diana and Jason at Bristol zoo I have a few photos I took when I was there - I am trying to put a blog together and wondered if anyone else had photos I could use - specifically Jeremiah as I had a very close bond with him - I only just found this forum so I am over the moon to hear my beloved friends spoken about so lovingly
Not sure how to upload the photos I have if anyone could help that would be great

It is quite easy once you know how...find the Bristol section in the Media and then follow the instructions for 'add media'. You may also find the Facebook pages; GorillaHaven Gorilla Photos & also Gorilla Group are useful links as these are more specifically for Gorilla enthusiasts, I post regularly on both of them.

Morning all, many thanks for the great photos, so excited to go through them and see what the Gorillas got up to in their Adulthood :)

Some great photos. It is quite cringy to look back and see the keeper cuddling up to Biddy and Ozala like that. Thankfully, they seem to focus on keeping them as "wild" as possible these days.

So visited today and the virus has hit hard would think going by the car park they where 80% down from four weeks ago on a Sunday there was only the first two car parks not even half full when we arrived just before noon there was some light showers but not to bad and speaking to one of the shop keeps they had been like this all weekend. The restaurants in the Himalaya where shut by two and all the kiosks in the zoo where shut. I was left wondering not if they would shut because of the virus but weather they can afford to stay open whilst the virus is about given most of the people I saw today where familiar faces, members not paying on the day to get in in the first place. On the plus side if there is to be one it made for a peaceful visit on the weekend where most of the exhibits you had for your self, even chimp Eden where we where the only ones in the building for a good five minutes at half one in the afternoon normally there peek time.

Got there just before 1030 and it was by far the quietist I've ever seen the zoo and that includes school term weekdays!

I was hungry and bought some chips around midday, I'm sure they were yesterday's!! I have bought chips from the chip shop every time annually since it opened, but today they were awful!!!

I don’t know having see the effects now I think a lot of mothers days will be spent at home with home cooked dinners etc, the knock on from this asumming it will be around for a few months will prob be any new attractions / exhibits put on hold for a while, at least a year to help them recover across all zoos / attractions

Do not start us up on the health and quality of eating "snacked" food stuffs!

Think sustainable: how about the manner and quantity of cod fishing and potato farming?!

I would love to do the ape one, but it would need to be a pretty amazing day for £300!
The website says "Twycross Zoo is the only UK zoo with all four great apes!" This doesn't take into account that there are 2 species of gorilla and 3 species of orang-utan.
