I agree. Whatever your opinion on TZ Dr Redrobe has been amazing for the place, transforming it and moving it forward. I hope things continue in the same vain.

Any idea where Kayan would be going? I know she lost her mother and has had to be more independent but surely 5 is a bit young for a move.

Haven’t a clue we got a email saying to see them before they go before the 12 Dec, Kayan is very little but then has been on its own for a while now

I thought 5 was a bit young? Wasn't Molly ( orang) near 8/9 when she moved? I always feel a bit sad when they move, but of course it is all for vital breeding.

They normally leave their mothers at 8/9 years. If she hasn't integrated with the other orangs and is mainly alone, maybe she's going somewhere where she'll have more of a chance of a family life. It will be interesting to see where she ends up.

Yes she is on her own so maybe it will be better for her x

It is young, but I hope she ends up somewhere that has a MUCH larger and more naturalistic exhibit.

If Twycross Zoo are intent on introducing the remaining trio into a larger group,maybe they could move to Monkey World. Monkey World has decades of experience in introducing Chimps to one an other. I don’t mean any offence to Twycross Zoo but Monkey World are far more trained in introducing Chimps. Alternatively, could Jeremy or Alison travel to Monkey World to assist with the remaining introductions.

Not sure if I missed a post somewhere. I was looking for someone to correct this.
Samantha is still alive. Not sure where that rumour came from. I only filmed her a couple of weeks back.

Yes, I took a photo of her a few weeks ago, after her death was reported. And then a couple of members asked the Zoo.
 
Would think Kristen the Amur leopard will be going to YWP also if there expecting a new female sone which will be good for them as she is a proven breeder just hope they get a replacement also or I fear this will be another species left to die out at the zoo

If Twycross are planning to continue keeping leopards, I think they’ll need a new enclosure relatively soon.
 
Gosh yes. It was ( kind of) OK when the chimps first moved out and it was converted, but it is a hideous eye sore.
