Types of dhole in zoos?

If only someone has access to the EEP studbook... Though it probably won't be too difficult to conduct a genetic analysis of the current captive population.

Well considered the taxonomic mess the species is currently in, a genetic analysis might not give too much insight as the currently accepted subspecies arrangement makes absolutely no sense and is desperately in need of a review.

The dholes from Palaearctic Realm (north of Himalaya and Qinling Mountain of central China) tend to have shaggy fur, white and wide cheeks, and white undersides; while the dholes from Oriental Realm tend to have slim bodies, black snouts and few whites. Almost all the captived "Chinese dholes" in western zoos are descendants of wild caught ones from NW China, not from Jiangxi Province of south China.
