There was on article in the 'Sunday Telegraph' about a 4.5 foot Spectacled Caiman living at partial liberty at its owners home in Kent .

There is also detail of the 4,296 animals registered with local authorities under the Dangerous Wild Animal Act . This includes 2,349 Wild Boar and 611 Ostrich mostly being farmed . There are also 372 poisonous snakes , 137 wildcats , 141 lemurs , 137 monkeys , 72 crocodilians , 44 camels , 40 antelope , 24 wolves , 13 zebra , 6 gila monsters , 2 fossa and 1 red panda amongst others . The article states that the number also includes exotic animals used in film production which probably would include the Heythrop stock .

They mention Shaun Foggett from Whitney who has 14 crocodilians including 3 Siamese crocodiles - I assume he is one of two collectors in the Oxford area that Zoogiraffe has previously talked about .

You can read the bulk of the article HERE. I imagine readers could have a lot of fun figuring out who is keeping what. It would also be of interest if anyone could come up with something in private hands that does not appear on the list.:)

The figures are wayyyyyyyy off, according to the FBH only 122 of some ~350 Local Authorities actually provided information, so... :)

The article's information's also quite a bit out of date -it's been a while now since you've needed a DWAL for raccoons
