UK WILDLIFE

On my last visit to Marwell I saw a kestrel land in a tree in the middle of przewalski horse paddock, and among the many squirrels, herons, sparrows, etc over the years I think my best wild animal in a zoo was this fox cub on the Port Lympne African Experience which I've shown in the photos below. The others are two very unfortunate ducklings who ended up as dinner for a hungry otter at Marwell:

I saw a fox on the african experience. It was the highlight of the african experience for me, it's only the third time i've ever seen a wild fox.

There's a whole host of native birds at Edinburgh, including quite a population of magpies. Squirrels are everywhere, including an albino squirrel living somewhere around Budongo Trail and the member's gate. The grass at the top of the hill is kept short by a mass of rabbits, some of which can alos be seen if leaving the car park after a talk at night! I've also come face to face with a few foxes and there is also known to be a number of badgers as well. teh largest badger set in the Lothians is within the zoo boundary.
I think wildlife feels safe and secure in zoos. They are, after all, animal friendly places!

At Paignton, i saw a Stoat on the Gorilla island, my first ever stoat.

Stoat beats gorilla for me every time. :D

The last wild stoat I saw (and the only wild one I've seen in recent years) was one that ran across the entrance road at Yorkshire WP last year. Lovely creatures.
