So, I’m taking the advice from people on my California Zoo & Aquariums ranked thread and decided to do a similar thread to that, but instead for Fresno Chaffee Zoo. This thread will not have any rankings however! Instead, I’m just going to highlight some cool and unique features that can be found at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo! And just so everyone knows, I have been visiting the Fresno Chaffee Zoo my entire life! So, I do know enough information to be able to successfully accomplish this thread! Also, I will use google images, but I will make sure to give credit to the websites and sources I find them on! I will periodically post one feature, starting today!

1. Elevated Platform Trail - Tropical Rainforest

If anyone has been inside the Tropical Rainforest Aviary at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, I’m sure you’ve seen the wooden platform trail that breaks off from the main path through the aviary! This trail gives guests an elevated viewing point of all the birds housed inside the aviary. Along this trail, there is also a bridge that crosses a gap in the rock formations! The elevated platform at the end of the trail gives you views of a variety of bird species including sun conjures, boat-billed herons, blue & gold macaws, Inca terns, roseate spoonbills, among a variety of others! This trail is an amazing area of the Tropical Rainforest Aviary, and is a must-see area for the Fresno Chaffee Zoo!

2. Elephant Falls - African Adventure

This area at the very back of African Adventure is a very aesthetically pleasing, and well-done area of the elephant exhibit. This area has a baobab-tree model with hanging feeders, and a natural-looking rock wall complete with a pool, waterfall, and little holes in the rock, which appear to be a kind of enrichment for the elephants. Currently, three African elephants call this exhibit home. Mabu the male, and females Nolwazi and Amahle. The elephants also share the exhibit with 4.0 slender-horned gazelles.
