Upcoming Exhibits in American Zoos for 2023

I have talked to two people that work at the Fresno Chaffee zoo that said there might be a new north American section. :)
If you look at Fresno Chaffee's master plan - https://fresno.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=11332829&GUID=113F32D2-0F72-4AFD-83A0-C403CB568B24
- planned animals for their new NA section (California section specifically) includes mountain lions, bald eagles, NA river otters, grey wolves, pronghorns, grey foxes, kit foxes, burrowing owls, and many more North American birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

Is Fresno still planning on mixing Sloth Bears with Asian Small Clawed Otters? If they are, I'm definitely driving to Fresno just to see that.
I spoke with zookeepers too, and they said yes! On their Instagram story rn there is a video of their otters "being mischievous" in the sloth bear habitat - you can recognize the bear's river stream. It is possible they were just letting the otters get used to the area and the bears were holding though, but would be cool if it was mixed now. Fresno Chaffee is definitley worth visiting, the amount of changes the zoo has received with its wonderful Kingdoms of Asia, Africa Adventure, and Sea Lion Cove upped the zoo's quality tremendously!

The Akron zoo also seems to be doing something new as they have plans for phase 2 of Africa. This is going to add on 14 acres to what they already have is what I’ve heard from the Akron zoo news chat. No news on when this will be taking place.

From the Akron thread -
I have read meerkat mentioned once. I have heard maybe a primate species, but not recently. Design should begin by the beginning of next year. I think availability will be a factor. I do know small mammals were mentioned for some of the extra area.
