Excellent news on a number of fronts!

Any reason for the Go-Away Bird relocation?

Re: Hunting Dogs, is the 2010 date a provisional one for their arrival or for the beginning of their enclosure's construction?

Go-away Birds don`t know what the reason is so will not try to guess.
As for the Hunting Dogs it sounded to me as if it would be completed before the end of 2010.
Also forgot to say the Emu has gone i don`t know if its died or been moved on but the enclosure is now empty.

This is all very interesting news, thanks for sharing. I am especially pleased to hear we have yet another baby Orang!

Is there any indication as to where the Hunting Dogs enclosure will be located in the zoo?

Zoogiraffe, any chance you can disclose where the AWD exhibit will be built?

I can think of two locations.

Great news about the orang utans!!
Does anyone know when the next elephant births are due?
Thanks!

Also forgot to say the Spirit of the Jaguar now has a Amazon Horned Frog on show in the old Poison Arrow Frog enclosure, and the Wrinklled Hornbill female is sealed in the nest box.

Great news about the baby Orang I assume Leia is the mum , Is there no sign of a male Camel being brought in? African Hunting Dogs sound really good im I right in assuming that they will be on the carnivore section?

Also im visiting the zoo on Saturday so if there is anything anybody would like me to try an find out, or take any specific photos or videos please let me know.

You are correct in your assumptions about Leia being the mother.

The male camel has been talked about for yours from what I gather, maybe they will now try and find a suitable mate for all 3 females now?

The zoo has no plans to bring in a male Camel.

The best bit of news is the wrinkled hornbills re-nesting. :)

I do hope that with their Philippine contacts Chester may be able to import some fresh genes into the European wrinkleds and start a breeding programme proper with the various expert bird collections across the UK and continental Europe.

Fantastic news all around then, especially with the baby Orang. Very pleased about the Hunting Dogs, one of my favorite species and the Camels, the zoo's needed some imports since quite a while.
