As many of you know, male sumatran tiger Tenang (born at Perth Zoo in 2000) lives at Paignton Zoo in England.

Tenang and his mate Banda have produced four surviving cubs: Kirana (2006) and Bintang, Aryo and Surya (2009).

Kirana now lives at Chester Zoo where she will be bred with a male called Fabi. Bintang has also left the zoo for Doue La Fontaine Zoo, France while Aryo and Surya await homes.

Banda will also leave the zoo in the near future as her bloodline is already well represented in Europe. A new female will be brought in to breed with ten year old Tenang who is currently the number one animal in the European Captive Breeding Programme.

Tenang has five siblings in Australia: Setia, Berani, Singha, Juma and Ranu.
