Could someone please give me updates on the following at Taronga Zoo:

-when is the chimp enclosure renovations scheduled to be completed and the chimps moved back in?

-ditto with the snow leopard enclosure

-what is happening with Wild Asia (ie is the snow leopard renovations the start of the second part of it)?

-what has replaced the dhole?

-has the new male Sumatran tiger been introduced to the female and put on display?

Thanks....I would like t hear the responses :)

I'm going there for about an hour today, so I'll check up on that. But they have also closed the whole Rainforest Aviary part of the zoo...

- Currently the chimp enclousure is set for completion in early 2011. The chimps will be moved and given time to settle in prior to its opening to the public.

- Currently the Snow Leopards are spread out across the zoo with 2 on display in the old Sun Bear enclousure and another animal in the original Snow Leopard enclousure. I am unsure if the renovation work has started or been completed.

- The Rainforest aviary is currently undergoing maintainence and renovations.

- The upper enterence and Wetlands are still undergoing re-construction within the master plan due for completion in 2011.

- The remaining female Silvery Gibbon has been exported I believe to the UK and exhibit renovations are currently underway in preperation to the arrival of a pair of White Cheeked Gibbons from Perth later in the year.

- The Dholes are back on display in there original exhibits.

- The Sun Bears currently are dispayed on rotation with Australia's last surviving Kodiak Bear sharing her exhibit.

- The two Sumatran Tigers are currently still undergoing introductions in hope of a successful breeding attempt.

Thanks for that.

Also, did the fishing cat exhibit still have that dirty water it has had for over a year now in which you can't see the fish?
