US zoos closed due to COVID-19 and duration

It's a precautionary thing, there's still a risk of infection from people visiting high traffic areas even when the attendance is capped. Aquariums especially may be vulnerable to this given that they're confined spaces that often don't allow for social distancing.

Social distancing didn't work worth a damn at Denver Zoo today except where it was enforced -- in the restaurant. Attendance was down, but everybody, especially children, crammed together in front of any exhibit where something was happening.

Despite saying all indoor exhibits were closed, the Tropical Discovery building was open around noon.

On the plus side I did notice more cleaning going on around the grounds. The bathrooms had that just been cleaned smell.

Some of these actually were already on the list, although thank you for the rest of the updates. I couldn't find info about Cape May being fully closed on their website or on social media, was there an email that went out?

Everything has been updated to the best of my abilities based on the info here and info available on these facilities websites or social media pages. Additionally, the Peoria Zoo is closed through March 30th per a Facebook post.

@pachyderm pro it was in an update on their Facebook page a couple hours ago.

Like I said in a previous post, I work at one of the zoos that has been closed so I'm personally effected by these closures. This gives me something to do in the meantime when I'm not working on artwork...which I guess has become my day job for now.
