Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year

I agree - the standard is stratospherically good :O)

I got it with my subscription copy and spent a good amount of time admiring the work.

The Snubnosed is so very very good it almost hurts though :O)

I've already been to the exhibition at the NHM twice, and as always the photos are phenomenal. I highly recommend a visit if anyone's in the area.

All absolutely brilliant, but the one of the merlin killing the snipe, the grass snake and the one by the photographer who risked his life to get in the water with a polar bear just astound me.

It is worth making a special trip just to see. Two years ago I was fortunate enough to be in London (on my first international trip) just after the exhibition opened. It is in an all black gallery with large backlit transparency prints of the winners and honorable mentions. The effect is so breathtaking you almost fall down backwards when you walk in.

(Note that although the museum is free, there is a fee for the photo exhibition, which is actually good because the tickets are sold by time slots to control the crowd.)

You can see all pictures on Natural History Museum website. Stunning indeed!

Yes it's definitely worth a visit. We also had an exhibition of some in the city centre this year, I think they were from 2 or 3 years ago. Some of them are mind-blowing!

That photo of the baby snubnose is just brilliant!

:p
