Views to Zoos

Cheers Kiang, i've now edited that bit to include the arabian oryx - i figured puerto-rican crested toad was a bit of a mouthful!

Great job, you better get an A! ;) I also like your opening, what in toastmasters is you either start with, something that makes people shocked/excited, a questions or something that gets people to think, a greeting or something that is unique.

3. The main purpose of zoos now seems to be to educate visitors. I think they are succeeding, children now seem to be far more knowledeable about wildlife than they did when I was at school.

4. Zoos have changed immensely from Victorian times. I can only agree with the comments made by previous posters. One thing I don't like is the new craze for building exhibits with very limited viewing areas. This just causes congestion whenever an animal is active and in sight of the visitors. I also don't like immersion exhibits where there is a huge expanse of vegetation and lack of animal exhibitis.

5. I agree with zoos and I believe that despite the activities of anti-zoo organisations the public are coming over to our side.
