Thank you Marie! Did you manage to get a look?Aoife had the baby early this morning ...
No .... the house was closed .. Not heard anything else about him/her either ...
Nice one, I was wondering how much longer we'd have to wait. Hopefully the tapir will drop soon and the female Indian rhino will arrive, then I shall definately have to fit another day in a.s.a.p
Will the baby giraffe be on-show pretty much straight away, or will it wait in the house (with the house closed off to the public) for a while? I don't know whether it would need any injections etc.. before being allowed out.
I would guess it would depend on the health of the baby and how comfortable Aoife is with the baby. I actually thought she had gone into labour whilst i was there yesterday but she quickly disapeared around to the back of the house so was unable to see.
This is the first Pure Baringo, all the other pure Giraffes born at Chester will have been Masai.Fingers crossed all goes well. Is this the first pure Rothschild born at Chester, or have there been other pure specimens born there in the past?

Just a rumour: Someone on the Longleat thread duly mentioned 2 female giraffe would be transferred to Chester. Any truth in that?
