Chester Zoo Visits Autumn

Yesterday there was an interesting touch table in Realm of the Red Ape where you could see the hair of each orang species and the difference in colour between them, and replica skulls from man, a male and a female orang. Quite surprising how small the orang skulls were, and the differences between those of a female and a dominant male.

Hate to say it, but the baby black-tailed marmoset is very cute, pictures don't do it justice.

The touch-table sounds interesting. I remeber one by the Tsavo house a few months back (July I think), with a model rhino horn, a porcupine quill, a zebra skin, a model lion skull and a village weaver nest (plus a couple of other things that I can't remember).

I hope it is there when I next go, but alas it may not be :(
