After yet another break of over 12 months we once again have a chance,to walk around Chester Zoo and ask the Curator of Mammals Mr Tim Rowlands all those questions that we have wanted answering over the last 12 months, about any species under his care.

The plan is to meet at the exit of the Monkey Monorail Station at 10:30 am on Saturday 11th October 2014,after which we will have a walk around the collection with Tim,stopping at various random points to chat and discuss various subjects, with Lunch in the staff canteen,in the afternoon we will finish up the parts of the collection we didn't do in the morning.

The walk and talk is open to anybody that can contact me via zoochat private message,if you cannot contact me via pm,then you cannot attend.Anybody under the age of 18 will have to notify me of their age,and anybody 16 or under will have to attend with a responsible adult. So if you wish to attend all you need to do is send me a pm with your real name and a means of contacting you in case of any unforeseen reason that may result in the event being cancelled.

Finally Tim would like a donation off everybody that attends to go towards the Rhinos.

Hope everyone has a good day but I'll have to give this one a miss; falls when I am away on a wildlife mission!

Obviously I'm on the other side of the world and won't be attending, but I'd like to praise Chester Zoo here. Quite a few zoos, it seems, have an instinctively hostile attitude towards Zoochat and engagement with us zoo fanboys and girls. It's great to see Chester go out of there way to encourage and welcome that heightened level of interest instead. Requesting a donation is eminently reasonable in return for Mr Rowlands' time too.

Well done Chester.

Many Thanks for this very nice comment,I know that it will much appreciated by both the staff and zoo!

Hopefully in the not to distant future a couple of the other UK collections, that have expressed some interest in doing something like this for zoochat will follow suit next year!!

This falls some seven weeks before my seventeenth birthday, unfortunately the responsible adult rule will count me out again on this occasion.

And me, too. I would like to thank Tim and the team though for giving zoochat the opportunity for these walk and talks. The ones I have attended have been fantastic.

I too would like to echo the comments about the zoo staff taking the time and making the effort to make these events happen ... unfortunately I`m not going to be able to make this one due to work commitments
Hope everyone enjoys themselves and that the weather behaves for you all !!

Sorry, I won't be able to make it but hope everyone has a very enjoyable day.

Be a shame to not have you about, Rob and Ben - but I daresay you will be enjoying seeing a lot of damn odd stuff so it is all good :p

We are up at the zoo that week, sadly I ain't as nimble on me feet at the minute, shoddy knees so wouldn't be able to keep up. Although we will be at the zoo on that day will play spot the zoo chatter again. See if I can get you all in a group shot.

I wouldn't put money on you not being able to keep,at times we don't move that fast as a group and we do wait till we have everyone,at the next stopping point!

I'm certainly no greyhound and I hear you about the knee issues - mine a buggered royally at the moment - being forced to 'rest' them means less wandering around the zoo? Sod that for a game of soldiers - I just amble more and enjoy tea breaks :D

I still have about a third of the places left, also I will be away from any form of internet excess for the next 36-48 hours!
