Walk Through's & Free Roaming Aimals

Sorry to bump such an old thread.
Santa Cruz Zoo, in Bolivia, has free-roaming Three-Toed Sloths. I saw at least eight during my visit in July, and I think there are many more. Does that beat Whipsnade? :p

The national zoo in washington dc has golden lion tamarins that are free to roam the grounds of the zoo.

When I visited last year Cotswold had several walk through aviaries. One has sloth in it (not sure of the species or numbers). Of course they have the lemur walk through as well which is excellent, with a big range of species.

Free-roaming yes but aren't they wild? The sloths in the botanical gardens in Santa Cruz are said to be wild.

I was under the impression that several of them had been raised by zoo staff. Though there is a large wild sloth population in Santa Cruz, the density at the zoo is especially high. Youngsters wear pet collars and I think many are rescue animals from the local population. There is a sloth enclosure which they move in and out of and they seem quite tame. I think they are mostly restricted to the zoo's grounds even if only by the wide roads which surround the zoo on all sides.

The Jacksonville Zoo has 3 walk through aviaries, one has a kilpspringer and anothers has a breeding pair of pudu.

Lowrey Park in Tampa has a great walk through "aviary" which contains many birds, sloth, bats and iguana. They also have a lorakeet aviary where the birds can be hand fed.

Cairnes Tropical zoo has a walk through aviary featuring native species - including kookaboora - and a walk through kangaroo paddock.

Lotherton Hall has an African aviary which is interesting.

The Rainforest Habitat place near Port Douglas has (had) walk through areas but it's a long time ago so I can't remember what was there. I just remember getting pursued by a large beady-eyed bird because you could buy food (for them not you)!

The fruit bats at Bristol were gorgeous, we were practically the only people there at opeing time and stood in there for ages with them flying round.

I went in the Tsavo Aviary at Chester for the first time recently and it was excellent but they had just been given live food.

Dudley Zoo has a Red Necked Wallaby walk through (The old Elephant paddock)
Lemur Wood Includes Ring Tailed, Black and White Ruffed, Black and Collard Lemurs in a very interesting walk though all Lemurs are present 99% of the time in the wood

The outside of Living Coasts is pretty much one big aviary with African & Macaroni penguins, Terns - inca, common & caspian, Wading birds including Avocets, Redshank, Ruffs & Stilts, Sea Ducks including various eider duck species & black scoters & bank cormorants. Most of the species have their own area that the public can't walk on but are free to fly or walk around at least part of the public areas, with the penguins getting fed in a public area. There is a smaller section with auks - tufted puffins, common & pigeon guillemots plus kittiwakes and choughs.

Not sure if this was mentioned in earlier posts, but Paignton now has a sort of walk-through fruit bat area - the outside section with the cusimanse etc, the mammals are out of public reach but the bats can free-fly in this bit.
