Walkabout Creek now have Platypus again after a long absence. Male Tarrabi arrived from Healesville in December following a few interstate transfers for the species. Originally wild-born from the Gosford region, NSW he has bred multiple times at Healesville: Platypus Exchange Program Enriches Conservation Efforts at Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre - The Gap Today

I visited Walkabout Creek today after a good morning of birding at the national park (lots of Bell Miners at eye level) and the only major piece of news to report is the addition of a young female Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat, replacing the male Common Wombat.
