Information on the walruses at Oceanogràfic Valencia has been limited and for this reason, the institution has not been featured recently. In addition, the names of these walruses are unknown which has also contributed to the inattention of this institution.

Based on the following sources, Oceanogràfic Valencia is presumed to have 0.3 walruses.

With the information gathered, Oceanogràfic Valencia acquired 1.4 walruses at an unknown time and from an unknown location. Since then, 1.1 walruses have died (between 2012 and 2013) leaving 0.3 walruses.

Does anyone have information on the age, potential names, and background history of the walruses at Oceanogràfic Valencia?

The 1,4 walruses came from Moscow to Valencia, but they are presumably captured in the wild . The names are all Russian names, Boris the (dead) male.
The females Katerina ( probably dead too), Tanya, Ninotchka and Petrushka.

Probably transferred to China (Huaxia Culture Tourism Group oceanarium) in December 2017

You should know that there are many dolphinaria in Sochi, Gelendzhik, Anapa etc. on the coast. Some of them, located in different cities, have the same name (usually, but not always) and the same owner. Such facilities often exchange their animals for different reasons so it could be difficult to understand where a certain animal “lives” usually/mainly.
Some animals and their trainers also go on tour to other cities (maybe even in other countries).

HAGENBECK'S TIERPARK - HAMBURG, GERMANY

Female walrus' RAISA's weight has encreased up to more than 950kg (2100 lb). I've taken some color slides, but unfortunedly I'm not allowed to publish them without Hagenbeck's permisson.
Has she eaten too much fish, or is there a much better reason for her putting on weight?
We'll see within the next weeks... ;)

On June 17th, 0.1 "Raisa" has born a male calf. (Raisa x Odinnadtsatyi)
It's the 3rd calf born at Tierpark Hagenbeck within the last 5 years.
That's what I wanted to tell you in #196. Of course she had not eaten too much fish, but she was pregnant.
Now it's announced officially.
Congratulations to Raisa, Odin and the whole EismeerTeam!

If Raisa is the mother of the new calf, then why does the news announcement state Dyna as the mother?

Is there a misunderstanding in which female walrus was pregnant or are both females pregnant?
