Unfortunately it is not quite accurate. The search for the secrets of the universe has merely been delayed by a few days - and there is speculation that something big is in the works (about 6 times heavier than the Higgs boson to be more precise ).

I think I read about the 'something big in the works' that you are referring to in some Science Magazine recently (I think in either the Scientific America or New Scientist) which should be very interesting indeed.

I think that even a small wolverine is quite a bit larger than 6 Higgs bosons or to put it another way, the first wolverine appeared several billion years after the Big Bang

Despite all the media references to a 'weasel', the original CERN document (http://indico.cern.ch/event/506407/.../attachments/1265776/1873815/LHC_29042016.pdf) attributes the fault to 'fouine' - i.e. a Beech Marten.
