How late are they allowed out in the summer? And now they are at the feeding station.
Many of Chester's animals aren't locked away at all, only those at obvious risk of predation. I've been in the zoo before 7am and a lot are out and about, for example, early morning is often the best time to see the monkey islands exhibits. How late are they allowed out in the summer?

Thats why they have an electric fence around the enclosure which they switch on at night!22:50 just saw one of the flamingos go past the camera I didnt think they would be left outside of night incase of foxes etc
Which animals are left outside? Do you think other webcams will be introduced.
Following an incident a number of years ago with the tigers, a storm and a damaged fence all the big cats come in at night.
I could only really tell you which I've seen out at both ends of the day that would make for good webcam subjects, but they would include the black rhino, who I've seen in the paddocks as late as 8:30pm, the lion-tailed macaques who enjoy the morning and the Sulawesi crested macaques, who all troop out as darkness falls. Then of course there's the lar gibbon, who wake the whole zoo up as soon as there's a hint of daylight.Which animals are left outside?

Well I know of a flock of Flamingos in the UK that actually have built there nests inside the house and breed most years in it!It would be self-defeating to bring them inside at this time of year, as their nests and eggs are outside
The whole zoo should be fox-proof, although I don't suppose that's easy to achieve.

Both webcams can be panned and zoomed so I don't think either have moved (I'm sure the giraffe cam hasn't). I hope they pan that one back onto the building as the giraffes spend more time over there.
Update: Awww... there's the chick.![]()
