I was interested to see what websites you guys like to look at dealing with zoos, besides zoochat.

and zoo websites themselves

If you have any good websites, please post. If it is a website in a different Launguage please also post what language it is in. Thanks

Zootierliste can be useful at times although I believe it's data is compiled from user-contributions

There are two wonderful sites on German zoos that I know of; both are highly specialized. One deals with elephants, the other with gorillas in German zoos.

The one on elephants is in German only, therefore I link to the most useful part of it for people who don´t read the language: a clickable map showing every zoo with elephants in Germany. Lots of info, pictures etc on every zoo.

Come to think of it, the latter is in fact a part of the zoos dans le monde-site mentioned in a post above.

Anyway, both are absolutely brilliant! The one on elephants you easily spend three or four hours on when you visit it for the first time. The one on gorillas is not that big but great anyway.

Yes, it only discusses the period of 1993 - 2003. I should have mentioned that.

Considering the Sumatran rhino is so highly endangered, there always seems a lack of hard news from Way Kambas and despite looking at these sites, its hard to find anything apart from an occassional 'blog' by some of the workers there. Is there no recent news?:confused:
 
Got this link in the saguinus in Novosibirsk thread, a fantastic personal zoo visit site, beautifully crafted, and really well laid out, take a bit of time to enjoy the lovely pictures.
