Planet Zoo Weird mixed exhibits that work (and ones that don't but should)...

I feel the same way about the fact there's interspecies enrichment for Japanese macaque with red-crowned crane! I know I certainly wouldn't trust macaques to play nicely with cranes![/QUOTE
I think a couple zoos in eastern Asia has successfully housed cranes and macaques, although they may only have interspecies bonus because of shared range in the wild

Honestly I don't even bother with welfare in sandbox. Although - while I do think about species mixes that would (logically) make sense, I can't help but wonder about proposed species mixes that would genuinely be fantastic if pulled off properly; such as sloth bears, axis deer and Indian peafowl as proposed in Woodland Park's 1976 Long Range Plan.
No one cares about welfare in sandbox unless you are playing it like franchise

I know I already replied on this thread, but I have another weird mix I want to share, one were all three species while they live in somewhat similar habitats live in COMPLETLY different parts of the world and would never naturally encounter each other.
This mixed involved Malayan Tapirs, Giant Anteaters, and Southern Cassowaries in one habitat. And yet, even though none of them had any interspecies bonus with each other(as well as being very unlikely to tolerate each other in real life ESPECIALLY the cassowary) they cohabitated just fine. Granted, I made this mix a few years ago and I did it in sandbox mode so who knows how it will work nowadays.
