I'd like to see the Margay move into the old leopard enclosure, and the Emu relocated and then that whole area between the gibbons and the camels redeveloped.
This unsettled weather is realllllly annoying me.it's looking more and more like rain which puts me off.
Has anyone been yet? I can't see any photos of the completed Snow leopard enclosure anywhere and am surprised the zoo haven't any on their website or facebook![]()
Me too but I decided to bite the bullet as the saying goes and have booked in for Sunday. At the moment that's looking like the least bad weather day of the weekend (however that will now no doubt change) so hopefully i'll get a look at the new enclosureThis unsettled weather is realllllly annoying me.
I've been waiting for your updateHave been today. The old snow leopard enclosure has been removed completely and where it was now has seating/picnic benches. Their new enclosure is great, got a couple of photos of it but as yet can't workout how to upload on here.
Also saw baby chimp clinging onto mum. Know that they had one born last year but didn't know there was a second one
I've been waiting for your updateI think I will be popping in tomorrow or Tuesday as the weather forecast is pretty good. Thanks!
Just over a week oldAlso saw baby chimp clinging onto mum. Know that they had one born last year but didn't know there was a second one
Great, glad you've seen it in personJust over a week old
Went today and agree that the new snow leopard enclosure is real good
I think the keeper called the mum Tuppence.does anyone know who mum is?
I didn't think I'd be there so long on Sunday, I arrived at 9.40 and was there till closing but it didn't feel like a long day. I've only managed to see the margays once and looking back at my photos that was October 2016. I remember it being late in the day as was told on a previous visit that's the best chance so I sat there for the last hour at the weekend and although their food had been put out unfortunately they never emerged.I think the keeper called the mum Tuppence.
@catfan I too wanted to see the Margay as I hadn't managed on my previous visits. Frustratingly, one was just climbing into the tree as I got to them and I only saw its feet. The other was sitting in the hatch, but I let a family take a look thinking they would move on quickly. As the third group moved on< I managed to see it climb down to the box where it stayed all day.
I only thought I would be there for about three hours as I had previously, but stayed all day.
They were hoping to get a particular shot for this when I was there, trying to coax one of the cats up to the large windows. It was a perfect example not to work with animals and children. I think what they used is a nice enough photo though.I see they've finally posted on socials today about the Silk Road project/snow leopard enclosure![]()
